My question has probably already been covered somewhere in the threads but here goes just in case... Can anybody reliably tell me if the front brake pads on a 5.7 litre 2005 VXR are the same as the 6 litre 2005 VXR model? confused

Cheers Monkfish, though i trust you are saying "yes" that the pads are the same size on both 5.7 and the 6 litre models and not that my question has most likely been asked before??? biggrin

Yes, that they are the same, though i did summise that you meant a 5.7 2004 VXR, not 2005?

2005 5.7litre and 2005 6litre was the comparison. My local main dealer parts department (Monaro trained dealer)didn’t seem to know, which is a bit worrying. I was told "we only carry one set" but wasnt sure about the answer my question...

You are probably confusing them as there is no such thing as a "2005 5.7 VXR" ... The V2 was replaced by the VZ (6.0) in Sept '04.

There seems to be a bit of confusion going on with my question.

I have the 2005 6 litre (LS2) VXR Monaro and need to know the following;

Are the pads/calipers (front or back) the same as fitted to the 5.7 litre VXR regardless of the year or when the 6 litre superseded the 5.7 VXR?

Sorry for confusing you guys if i have...

4 options:-

2004 CV8 - 5.7
2004 VXR - 5.7

2005 CV8 - 5.7
2005 VXR - 6.0
