New VXR8 owner - minor questions
Discussion
Hi all
I've been on this forum for about a year now, posting the odd (ha, ha) question and comment. Since last Saturday I'm now an VXR8 owner (LS3 auto) and have a few simple questions that I would appreciate your opinions on:
a) Tracker - one insurer (Tesco) wouldn't cover for theft without a tracker, but were £100 less on the premium.
b) Gap insurance - I've never had it in the past, not sure if its needed now.
Lastly, the stereo has an auxillery input - I guess for an MP3 or the like, does this need a '3.5mm jack socket to 3.5mm jack socket cable' to link headphone output to in car system input?
I'm sure I'll ask some more questions; some easy some harder and I may even be able to make a contribution to some postings :-)

a)tracker = good idea for own piece of mind and a number of insurers do require it
b)gap insurance - number of factors influence this, how long you planning on keeping car - if a couple of years at least then definitely worth the 3-400 quid because with the depreciation on the car values you'd be lucky to get 50% of your money back if the car was stolen/written off after a year. At least one person on here benefitted from this as he got full price back on his car which allowed him to buy a better second hand car than the one that was written off and have a load of mods done. Course he did have to have a nasty accident as well but they all walked away from it in one piece thankfully.
c)probably and if you need one I've got dozens of them lying in a box here and can post one off to you if you don't want to pay for one.

hi Steve
A) up to you really. I guess that it will broaden your choice of quote
B) I would (did). As mentioned, in the unfortunate event you will lose far more than that
C) yes - that is how I connect my iPod
Question for you
Can you get average fuel in the left trip display, speed in the centre and range on the right because I can't!
And are you doing mimms this month?

Tracker... have you seen this www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=99114 or I would look here www.globalsat.com.tw/eng/product_026_00001.htm I would consider these if I was looking for a solution for peace of mind.
