Hi.
I've just noticed that the fire extinguisher in the boot of my 07 vxr is showing less than minimum pressure. Should I a) throw it away? b) take it back to my local monaro dealer in Brighton (LOL - see my other post ) or c) take it for its 10k service to warrington or Monkfish and mention it then along with the flakeing door handle and the rusty stone chip on the roof (and the missing vxr badge and the fretting heater hoses? The problem is, if I take it to Monkfish I will end up paying for a rip shifter, diff cover, poly bushes, tracking and probably a few othe things. Oh woe is me what should I do ? (tee hee)

you got a fire extinguisher? suspect thats been added by some previous owner so being a responsible adult I'd suggest you take it to local recycling centre for disposal and call in at your local preferred tuning house to discuss a few mods to make the car go fast enough to blow out any fire that starts now you've lost your other means of protection

All HSV's (VXR) have fire ext's fitted as standard by HSV - Holdens (CV8's) do not.

My CV8 came with one just loose in the boot. I think it is a legal UK requirement for a new car to have one. Something the dealer put in I suspect.

Not too sure on that, just bought an 09 plate Corsa and there aint one in there. Fitted one into the boot of my CV8 though. Get it serviced and checked as part of my annual works fire extinguisher contract inspection.

Doesn't putting a Corsa in the boot of your CV8 effect the power/weight ratio somewhat?

sure it must help with traction though all that extra weight in the boot

oh you lot crack me up!!! Seriously though, yes putting a Corsa in the boot does help with the traction. Really must learn not to post in the early hours of the morning..

Devil.
You didn't by any chance buy one of those Arctic VXR jobbies did you. I swapped the Missuses Astra VXR for one recently as she got fed up with that violent torque steer. Cracking little motor though, only 500 made and the build number is printed on the dash. I got number 117. I hear Slaters managed to get number 1 which I believe was flogged at a premium. Bit embarassing at my age as the exhaust bangs and pops like mad on the overrun. Anyone else got one? eek
