Just fitted a host of Pedders suspension goodies including the quick-rack courtesy of the kind folk at Monkfish.

Car now corners very well and increased steering rate is very welcome.....but.

Now at speed the steering is very light at the centreline with no obvious feel at dead centre. It tightens up when cornering ok but makes for a very unsettled ride on slightly bumpy roads as the steering feels very loose and skittish (especially with the extra feedback due to the poly-bushes, stiffer shocks etc.)

This is the symptom i felt was removed with the poly front radius rod bushes, but the rack seems to have put it back with interest frown

Anyone else have similar issue? I'll be querying it with Roger and Andy when they are back from hols but thought i'd see if anyone had any similar experiences.

i had the quick rack and the pedders adjustable and you get those symptoms when the shocks are set on a soft setting as soon as you set them on a harder about 15-16 clicks the steering feels way sharper again

Did you have the tracking done after you fitted the parts, the tracking can affect the steering feel?

The quick rack in question I think is a very simmilar ratio to what was fitted as standard in the VT and VX HSV GTS's and GTSR's and is a significant differance to a standard Monaro rack.

Mine had geometry set by Monkfish on their Hunter, as part of the work.

All fitted by Monkfish and geometry setup. It is now pulling to the left slightly so it may be going back for a checkup.

Did you find this made a large difference? Also have pedders adjustables fitted so will try winding them up a little tighter and see if it helps.

yeah i tried setting it softer by 5 clicks the other day wasnt in a rush and thought it might be nice for a bit of comfort wich it did but the steering becomes very vague and the steering is slower to respond as soon as i got back i put them back up again by 5 clicks problem solved if youve got adjustable then try turning it up a few clicks it btw mine pulls to the left as its pulling to the camber its only natural with the monkfish setup it gives better turn

Thanks, give this a try when i'm back in the country.

Can't complain about the rest but the vagueness in the middle was a niggle I was hoping to lose.
