I wasnt to do the second pipe mod thing to my airbox tomorrow and have the instructions on how to do that, however they dont say how to actually remove the box itself from the car?

Some of the screws which look like star head ones appear to be in nearly impossible places to remove, is their a how to anywhere on here?

Thanks

Did mine on wednesday. A decent socket set with lots of extensions and inserts does the trick. I found three fixings on mine, one each end and one in the air box. When refitting make sure your new hole diy intake pipe is not so long to prevent you replacing the front fixing.

Is the one nearest the front of the car a right bugger to get to?

Also what type of sockets, is it those star things?

The star shaped ones obviously fit and I didn't have any so used an allen key which worked.

The one you can't get to is the top right one under the header tank. Confused as how I was going to get to it I yanked the header tank and it came off the screw that mounts into the inner wing. So as has been said you can either undo them or with a bit of pursuasion they come off the rubber mounts.

Don't remember the one at the front being a bugger to get to ?

You do know theres another bit of plastic in front of the airbox which has to be cut exactly in line with the hole you are cutting in the airbox ? I didn't realise that and it then meant I couldn't be bothered to do both so put it all back in again !! It did allow me to rustproof the inner wing and chassis member though !!

I think this varies between models. On my VZ there was only the airbox and no additional plastic to drill through. Maybe its different for VXZ's!

Unfortunately never got around to doing it this weekend, clearly bbq's and beer took a major priority!

Will hopefully make a start this weekend on doing it, the brakes are off so the car isnt going anywhere!

No need to undo the fixings. Just give it a hefty tug. Bit of silicone grease makes refitting easier.
