I had headers fitted to my CV8 but held off from remapping as I then intended on sticking a supercharger on. I have since been forced to rethink due to finances about my next step to making my Monaro how I want it. I have decided on changing to the 3.91 diff towards the end of the year beginning of next.

I had the car dynod after the cat back and it was making 320 at the wheels. With the headers fitted is their any point in remapping again or will the current tune be able to take into account the addition of the headers? A remap is pretty much the same cost of the 'rear end' pac at Monkfish so if a remap might gain 10bhp then it doesn't seem like great value for money when I could spend it on other areas.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Mine is running absolutley fine with the headers (CV8 VZ), no issues at all. My question is how much extra power might I release with a remap? My gut feeling is not enough to notice to warrant the cost of a remap when I could put the cost of a remap towards the 3.91 diff.

I guess its not just about how much extra bhp you might get - more about how and when it gets delivered ?

Also - is there a risk that it might run lean or too rich at certain points through the rev range ?

If you are worried ask Mark at Rapid to put it on the dyno. It's not expensive and you will get a custom map for your car's setup. The difference between a good and bad tune is noticeable on the road. You might get a deal on a blower while you are there!

I was told around 40 fwhp extra after headers and remap......
Had mine done at the same time so can't tell you what it was like with just headers.... suffice to say the pick up is now very good, not so noticeable at higher mph, but 1st and second are now brutal!

just had full exhurst with headers ..but no remap is alot better and you can feel the extra power and pull all the way through rev range spin
but prob better with remap done aat same time
