Guys does anyone make a stand-alone PnP ecu for LS1 vehicles?

Why would you need to. The standard ecu is more than capable of any changes and even custom operating systems if needed.

Just wondering. I already have EFilive and a Roadrunner but I was looking at options.

There may be some available but from what i've seen most tuners seem to stick with the stock.

Hows the RoadRunner working out by the way. Been tempted to look at one myself....

TBH the roadrunner is part of the reason I am looking. I haven't used it yet and was just thinking about real time tuning. When I try it I'll let you know!

Go for it with the road runner mate.
I think you will struggle to find anything better at any level.

Thanks Richard, work took over the later part of last year and never got around to it. You maybe able to answer me a question which will be very basic to you. How does the Dyncylair equate to psi in the timing tables?

There is a formula somewhere, basically dynamic air is the mass of air in the cylinder.
This will be related to rpm, charge temp, volumetric efficiency and pressure. Basic physics, PV=nRT you are asking about n
The MAF will measure it directly.

So there isnt a strict relationship but in a stock LS1 usually anything over 0.80g/cyl would be boost though a head/cam setup will make 0.90g/cyl

So PSI is the P of the equation and n is the dyncylair

Thanks mate. If you do stumble across the formula that would be great, but I have a much better idea now thumbup

LOL I will take a peek. The reason ask is my spark table goes to 1.2 dyncylair and I wondered if that is enough for say 12psi boost?

Depends what you class as plug n play. Making an ecu plug into the harness, that will run the engine is no big deal.

Dont forget, the same computer also runs otehr devices I believe....so just removing it is far from ideal on a road car.
I think one of the Vette guys did that a few years ago, removed the standard ecu in favour of a Motec, and had no end of trouble.
Although I think a lot of that was also down to the inabilities of the people carrying out the work.

If a standalone was really your chosen route, wiring it as a piggyback system would be the best option, leaving factory ecu stil in place to do whatever bits and pieces it does.

Although whilst I havent used EFILive yet... rolleyes, I believe the roadrunner/efilive option would be the most sensible route to take.
It will allow you to do pretty much anything you need...live tuning, speed density, up to 3bar etc

Yeah Id say so. Thats almost 2bar, so at max torque that sounds close to right. The custom OS's provide extra timing adjustments for if you manage to exceed that value. But I dont think you will by too much, if at all.

Thanks guys. Stevie, I hear what you are saying about piggybacking.
