My VXR8 was pulling a bit to the left so decided to get it checked. The main agent for VXR8 is a large dealer group and so I went to their tyre depot (on their dealership site) to get the alignment sorted. They didn't have the VXR8 settings on their machine but got them faxed over from their Vauxhall service desk.

The fax had three models including the Clubsport R8 which I told them was the correct one. The car still isn't right (worse if anything) and wondered has anyone else had the alignment set and if so do they know the settings.

The clubsport settings will be fine, but irrespective of which they used, it should still go in a straight line. Do you have a print out you can post up? Hopefully can give a good idea of where the issue lies.

I didn't get a printout but will run the car back to them later and get them to recheck. I'll make sure I get a printout.

Ok they have had another go at setting the car and it is more or less back to what it was before they started fiddling with it. The current setup is:

Front Axle

Total toe +0.28
Half toe LH +0.14
Half toe RH +0.14

Camber LH -1.35
RH -0.36

Caster LH +6.00
RH +5.87

King-pin angle LH +10.86
RH +11.17

Included Angle LH +9.51
RH +10.81

Set Back +0.12

REAR AXLE

Total toe +0.24
Half toe LH +0.13
RH +0.11

Camber LH -1.39
RH -1.41

Set back -0.05

Thrust angle +0.01

Track difference +0.21

Hopefully someone can tell me if these values are ok.

The numbers are typed correctly so it would seem this could be the issue. Is there camber adjustment on the front and rear suspension? Despite these guys being the main agent they haven't done the alignment on a VXR8 before so they don't fill me with confidence.

Looking at the details they got from Vauxhall the camber on both front and back should be -1.00 +/- 0.25 so they are all out from these tolerances anyway.

front camber is adjustable on all R8 the rear depends on build date.

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. I'll give the guys another go to see if they can finally sort it. If not, I'll be across the pond for a couple of weeks and will be at Stratford upon Avon for a few days so within travelling distance of Monkfish. Any chance you guys could sort me out if I'm still not happy? scratchchin Hmmm, how long to fit the road response pack?

We can sort out the alignment no problem. Worth pointing out that with that big a mismatch, even with it corrected there may be a tendancy to drift one way or the other as a result of uneven tyre wear. Not that likley, but does happen. But that camber needs to be corrected.

Road Response Pack on an R8 is most of the day, but it would be same day. Obviously, it includes alignment
