I asked here but didn't get much info - don't think many have been fitted yet (if any).

I contacted the agent who said this -

"Thank you for the enquiry.

Yes they are ride height and damper adjustable.

Although new in the UK, this HSD coilover kit for Monaro's is one of the most respected kit's in Australia. It's been fitted to a huge amount of Holden Monaro's, which as I'm sure you know are exactly the same as the Vauxhall Monaro.

They are stocked in the UK, and we pride ourselves on our level of customer service. You get a full 12 month guarantee, and we offer a full refund if your not happy with them in the first 30 days. We have sold 1000's of HSD kit's and never had anyone take us up on that offer, and no other coilover manufacturer we know of is confident enough in their product to offer that."

I also asked 'Tim the pool man' to see if they were well known in Aus as the agent suggested to me and he said this -

"Haven't heard anything about these, but here is a link to a thread on
LS1.com.au where they are discussed (mainly by the selling agent ;-) )"

Might be worth a shot if offer a money back guarantee, stick a set on the Visa, get the guarantee in writing and if crap just claim the money back off Visa as would probably never hear from the company again!

Sure I read they claim they supply parts to some of the biggest names in suspension, be interesting to find out if that is true and if so who they do supply to.

Why not pay the extra and get the Pedders? The HSDs might be like the KWs; sounds good but too hard for UK roads. I'm not sure I'd want to be a pioneer/guinea pig for these.

If they are as harsh as KW's avoid like the plague, fell into that trap years ago and the car that fitted them to was destroyed for use on u.k roads.

If driftworks use them in there demo and competition cars, then they can not be that bad can they?

I really doubt they are brilliant for that money, but maybe worth a try. As others have said they may well be very hard, like the D2's. Does it state anywhere what the spring rates are?

Well, no, actually they are not. Comparing the non-fitted price of the HSD with the Pedders they are £709 more. Pedders includes a ball-jointed replacement ARB drop link too.

Is it more important that they are cheap or that they work properly?

The may be fine on track, but not on bumpy, pot-holed roads. Would be good to hear from someone who has them on a Monaro though.

Yes. Found on an Aus forum.

"Both the VT-VZ and VE systems use a 14kg/mm (784lb/in) front and 10kg/mm (560lb/in) rear spring rate. Testing and development in Australia revealed that these rates offered the best compromise between track performance and on-road ride comfort. The front spring rate can also be custom-ordered in increments of 1kg/mm (56lb/in), while a 6kg/mm rear spring is available for the VE to suit drag-racing applications."

I persevered with the KWs on my car, reduced spring rates to 400lbs ish and fitted 18" rims, car handled pretty well after that, but 784 lb springs sounds well hard!

I'd like to know what the spring rates are on a VXR or the Pedders stuff but nobody seems to know ?
