Saw this and it caught my eye. Nice looking.

May be of interest to someone on here looking for a car.

If I hadn't have bought my 2005 VXR Monaro (500 Spec) I probably would look at this myself.

nice Ute indeed. Is that a reasonable price though in todays market? Is it really worth 3-4 grand more than a decent spec 04 monaro? At the price he's looking for there are some half decent 6.0 VXRs available which will be 3 years newer in terms of wear and tear and corrosion.

But there aren't a lot of Utes of this quality, and the reason is the import duty. On a commercial vehicle (which is what these are classed as)its 22%. Add 17.5% VAT and you can see the problem. I think Does 12's experienced this when he bought this ute in Aus, he hadn't taken the extra's into account.

The price of this kind of stuff is always a moot point, but ATEOTD it's down to simple supply and demand i.e what someone is prepared to pay.

Hi Folks, ye its my car.. its stands me double dat, like most of us here. the reason i hav it advertised is simply because its just sitting there.. myself and herself drive jeeps and wen im not in that im usually taking out the bike so even though its a smashing machine it just aint getting the use it should so it makes sense for me to maybe put the money into something else not sure wat. A monaro would be the job but the problem in Ireland is the vrt then the road tax.. with the ute there is little or no vrt (€50) and the road tax is a fraction (€277) of wat the monaro would be so.. its a fine fine car and the uk seems to be the only place to enjoy these beasts at a reasonable running price compared to eire..im sure somebody will take a fancy to it as it does nothing but turn heads..
