I went out the other afternoon and the fuel and temp guages failed to move from the bottom, i noticed and stopped a few hundred yards up the road. i turned the car off and on again, the guages read normally however i was also now travelling at 80mph which is concerning! i turned the car off again and each further time the speed dropped until it reads 0mph when it all started working properly again.
What was that all about? confused

And whats an occasional clonking from the front suspension when on lock likley to be, drop links?

cheers in advance

Dear mv6 bob,

have a search, there's been a thread or two on mad speedos. My speedo's done it only once. IIRC you could replace the instrument pack, maybe poor soldering, or you could leave it if the occurrence is very rare, adds to the car's character smile

regards,
Jet

Yep, quite common. Mine went berserk the other day for a while until I stopped and restarted.

its a known bug, a reset (on/off) can fix it. Caused by the speed convertor but if you use EFI live you could remove it and just program the signal direct (I never did this, problem would occur once or twice a year)
