They fit fine on the 8" rim, in fact I think its a recommended width for 285 tyres. You should have no problems.
Its 255's on the front that will start causing troubles..

11 inch tyres on an 8 inch rim is a bit unorthodox. 285 more usually seen on at least 9.5" rim.

PCV8 has for years driven around with 245 front and rear on his Odyessey without any problems. He does mega mileage so would notice a problem.

245 fits fine on both ends. The rears can take 255 if you are prepared to fit them on an 8" rim but most tyre fitters recommend an 8.5".

save money get 235s which is what the car is designed around. What will the extra 1cm give you?

I did run 245s on the back for ages, these came free on a pair of wheels I bought. They appeared fantastic but in retrospect that was beause the old tyres were down to the steel. Prior to selling I fitted a full set of 235 michilen pilot sports = fantastc. Why bother wth 245

WHS

spend the extra cash you will need for the wider tyres on a better quality 235 tyre.
I've got nexen 255's on rear and they do grip better.....than the falkens they replaced. They do look slightly wierd as the sidewall is flat and vertical as apposed to the slight curve on the 235s.....

Biggest issue for our tyres is sidewall strength so why put more pressure on it to perform?

As I've said in previous posts when the time comes I'm going back to 235's.

Saturated Odyssey is its correct name.....
The real Odyssey looks boring on photo's but the best in real life..... beats flat colours, swirly paint and undercoat anyday!
