I've owned my Monaro now for close to two weeks and successfully managed to navigate all of Manchester's monstrous speed humps without any expensive scraping sounds. I give those cushion ones, aka exhaust-ripper-outers a bit of care and only take half the car over, but there is one at a place I must travel too with work in their drive that scares me a bit. It's one of these horrible things and is pretty steep!

They all seem to be a similar size, with a similar back braking action, and was wondering if anyone has had a 'Ro over them without any problems? I'm sure the bumper will clear, as it clears most kerbs, but it's the VXR's side skirts that worry me a bit! I'm really looking for an easy way out that doesn't involve standing in a primary school car park measuring speed humps, or maybe I could get the kids to do it as a lesson of what not to install?

If your car is standard then I shouldn't worry about it too much, if you haven't touched base yet then you may be OK. Just do as your doing - be observant. If its lowered then be prepared for a scrape or two !!
I think you'll scrape the exhausts before the side skirts anyway so I wouldn't worry about them !!

Hello,
We have those at the entrance/exit at work and I don't have a problem even with lowering via coilovers. If you are running stock suspension you should have no problems at all (except for multistory car parks).
Maybe your exhaust need a little adjustment or something ?
Cheers
Steven
p.s. Where about are you based ? I live in Rochdale and work in Bury.

Tomorrow will be the moment of truth then, I'll give it a shot. If nobody here has had any problems I think I'll be OK, but just wanted to make sure.

The places I visit with work are mostly south and east Manchester. Mostly round Didsbury, Withington, Levenshulme but I have the odd trip to Chorlton and Ancoats.Glyn84 said:

Today I got harassed by a girl in the petrol station on the A6 in Stockport who was asking about the car. She was quite fit, so I kept talking... for long enough the pump timed out with lack of activity and I had to pay then continue filling up

Next nearest was Stockport but think Paul may have sold up !!
