If its a 5.7 CV8 like mine Monkfish do a 10,000 mile service for £136.96. The 20,000 service is the same price. I had mine done with them a few months back and they are very thorough. They also use better quality products than VX. HTH

get Peters in Motherwell to do it, do what I do and take the bits in for them, choose your own oil and get filters etc from Monkfish/RapidGB. Jim Clachar(?) need to check surname, I only ever use his firstname, is the guy to see at the service desk - if you tell him I sent you he should make sure only the mechanic Stevie gets near your car, he's worked on mine a couple of times and knows what he's about.

Glad to hear about the tyres, better than risking a set of points and 2.5k on a fine by doing much more mileage on the old set.

"Take your own bits in". LOL. Only a Scotsman would have the neck to do that.rofl

ETA Well, maybe a Yorkshireman?

they're not a Monaro specialist and Vauxhall wont send them the bits if they try to order them but dont let that spoil the stereotype. Far easier to turn up, hand over the stuff and have them fit it and get your book stamped.

get yourself a K & N filter and bin the stock one - 40 quid or so from fleabay, do that yourself. plugs apparently are good for 50k miles but if you want to change them theres been plenty threads on here discussing relative merits of copper/iridium/platinum and again as the service manual only says every 50k miles why pay a garage - do it yourself. All you're really needing is an oil change and a visual inspection for your tick in the log book I suspect but check with one of the sponsors on here what they'd supply in terms of filters etc. As for oil save a few quid postage and pick that up locally as well - I use Millers XFS as the local A1 store stocks it and I get a discount from him as I buy all kinda bits and pieces from him.

Come to the meet in the morning and we can have a chat.

Jesus yikes

a) Even Vauxhall only quote a little over £130 for that service, something not right there!
b) Servicing is every 10,000 miles or 12 monthly whichever is first.
