What it says on the tin.

I blew mine on Sunday and can't get it fixed for the Drag day.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Im sure someone predicted a new trans would be required recently. At least you can buy a built strong one now.
No point getting a stock one surely?
Can Andy rebuild it for you?

Spoken to him at length earlier and he's chocker block. He's only just finished a build for Trickas' Maloo Ute, same box, slightly different story, same fix though, and expensive.

You know, i knew this was certain to happen, and I could have shipped a box over when the aussie was at 2.65 to the pound. Still cheap enough though. I will get a spare anyway, cheaper than a rebuild.

Andy's told me that if I build my engine to plan, I have absolutely no chance of it surving for long. Apparantly it's a st design and just not up to more than 300rwhp and torque a standard. Even built you are struggling.

Probably a good thing it happened now actually, before I got the card out.

Thanks for trying. Funnily enough that is the box Andy recommended for drag work. No overdrive though so not good for road use. And no electronics, so I don't think the PCM would be very pleased not to see a gearbox there.

This would be my transmission of choice Gareth - www.rpmtransmissions.com/levelivauto.html

There's 2 further levels to cope with even more HP!

Thanks Chris, I have seen these and a few other good makes. A 65 is virtually a built 60 anyway. And I am told even the built boxes will struggle with 500rwhp.

Remember the Yanks 500 hp is different to ours wink

BTW do you know what your box is capable of handling stock and otherwise?

Could you convert to manual transmission?

Or is your preference with an automatic one Gareth?

Whatever I do it won't be for Saturday. I like the auto's on these, you can tune them. Not averse to a manual though, and it can be done.

Martin, that would need building too, but thanks

Too big. These are the kiddies though, form the big yank trucks. they will also fit the bigbklocks.

Not a straight swap though and very very heavy. I suppose I would have difficulty with segment swaps on the TCM too. Nice thought, been there earlier with redvictor.

Trans brake too, that'd be the go. Good price too, cheaper than a rebuild. Yeah I suppose I could have both and swapt them about?

RPM Transmissions in the US seem to be able to build them strong.

Commisserations Gareth, really bad luck. If you want a run down the strip on the day, you are more than welcome to a go in mine... if it's not too slow for you wink

It's probably a Godsend, I'll be too busy organising you lot and trying to keep you all happy!

Nice offer mate, but abusing someone elses wheels is the last thing I would want to do.
