At motorbodies Luton

Went in to get some parts for the Astra Coupe Turbo today and the VXR8 was sitting in the corner.....

Looked awsome apart from the black stripe..

Didn't realise quite how much had been done to the stock VXR8..

I saw a Bathurst today too at Thruxton...

Also had my first drive of a VXR8... was very much sold on the whole idea. If only I could justify it! smile

Motorbodies getting that Bathurst VXR8 meant they had to sell their other one - to me :-)

Was in there today, looks dramtic enough but not sure I could live with the whole white / stripe thing.

As I understand it, its mainly the suspension you are paying for on the standard Bathurst. Other bits are nice but not significant. Even has the standard exhaust.

Just buy a nice LS3 IMO.
Small cam with retained emissions compliance and Id almost put money on 400rwhp.
All nice and as standard. I doubt you would even need to replace the exhaust.

I drove the manual VXR8 (twice) and the auto (once).

IMHO, the auto made more sense for that kind of car. but WHAT a car!!! grunt, noise, looks, comfort etc etc. Hubba Hubba! They are superb value too...

I saw one at goodwood fos on Friday. It makes a great sound driving, deep exhaust note with a distinct whine. Looks great cornering at high speed as well, sticks to the road like it's on rails.

I saw the Bathurst at Goodwood yesterday too. The whine of the SC up the hill was fantastic. Still not sure it's worth the £50k it cost with the extras compared to a boggo VXR8 but it looked and sounded great smile

I dont think you would actually have to pay £50k, as they just take the base the car and add the kit. £35k is probably reality.

Not sure what the Goodwood car had then but the info sheet on the windscreen said it cost £50 including an exhaust and 1 or 2 other bits.
