Springs and Steering input creaking
Discussion
Can anyone advice me please? My worry is compounded as the Network Q/ Vauxhall warranty clock is ticking down after only having the car a couple of months.
after around 50+ miles the VXR8 starts creaking very loudly( when at slow speed) going over any slight obstacle in the road (such as speed ruts) and also any steering input results in loud creaks (moreso to the right weirdly). the top of the strut mounts certainly get hot to the touch.
i get no creaking noises on short hops but in traffic waiting to get in silverstone it was very embarrassing to be sat there and worrying as to whether its a sign of something more serious (as i have no clue).
Any advice will be most welcome
i'd like to appear to have a clue when i go knocking on about it, or having a whinge, at the local dealers service department .. a trip which would be a short hop and so no creaking suspension would be evident.
Thankyou

As the cars owner, you dont need to know anything about its workings.
All vauxhall need to know, is there is a seriopus problem that you want fixed, immediately, as you think the car feels dangerous on the road.
Has the suspension been altered from standard in any way, has anyone else worked on it ?
Could be as simple as a siezed top mount bearing.

Thankyou for ur reply
it started around the time of the hot weather spell and knowing nothing of the quirks of the vxr8 i thought the best place to start would be to ask the forum for much needed guidance.
The car runs true and doesnt pull to either side. other than it making a racket the ride has become noticeably soft. all tyre pressures are 36 psi and show even wear and its had work done on it before pick-up to pass the network q warranty
i will try to explain things to the local service manager and see what he suggests also .. i've only had it for a couple of months and am unsure about taking it back to the dealer i got it from as the sales experience was poor to say the least.
