Dyno Day At Rapid GB - Please Note Your Interest Here.

Good afternoon all,

Please do not trash this thread and turn it into an argument or heated discussion. If you would like to do this, then please feel free to use the "other" thread.

It would be good to try to arrange a forum dyno day for the near future, to be held at Rapid GB - on their equipment and setup.

It can be held at Rapid GB's premises. Or due to them being mobile, they can attend the location of one of our other upcoming forum events - such as the next forum drag day for instance.

I realise that it has been the forum "norm" to use SSR for this venue, but I wanted to see if there would be some interest from forum members on here to hold such a day at Rapid GB instead. It may be that Rapid GB is closer and more convenient. Or that people would like a run and print-out of their vehicle on another dyno setup other than SSR's.

My understanding is that Rapid's dyno is calibrated at least four times a year by FIA... as it is used to scrutineer strict race specification cars such as Porsche GT3, Touring, etc.

I have asked Mark at Rapid GB if he would like to do this with us, and he would. No dates have been discussed or mentioned at present.




I am just interested in numbers at present. If anyone from this forum would be interested in this, then please add your name to the list.

Please also state what format you would like it to happen - either at Rapid GB premises or for them to attend our next arranged forum event.

The thought crossed my mind that if it was to be a devoted dyno day at Rapid GB's premises - and not linked to our next forum event - it could also be good if we didn't just restrict it to HSV, Holden, Monaro, VXR8, etc.
We could also put an invite out for the day to other forums and clubs such as Mustang, Corvette, etc. Add some spice and competition!

OK... so far looks as though 12/13th September could be an option. That would fit in with ringham and wormus so far. What about everyone else?

Keep adding the names - we should aim for September time.

I know what I make on this dyno already, however, if I get my underdrive pulley and a couple of other bits done it may be worth a crack???

Just to keep everyone happy of course. Still like the idea of a Dyno battle though.;)
