As a newbie, i,ve been fishing around seeing who does what for how much and i,ve been astounded at how cheap some of the stuff in the states is. Carbon fibre nostril bonnets @£650 ago look nice, £350 for GRP. Shipping would probably make it a bit prohibitive for one offs, but three or four should make it attractive, probably wouldn,t be able to advoid import duty 8%, and vat though on something of that size.
I buy quite a bit of motox bits from the states and i,ve even bought a complete car exhaust system in stainless that was cheaper than i could buy the mild steel back box for here.

I will say however that price is no substitute for quality and its a long way to send it back.

Be very carefull buying headers (extractors) from US as they are made for LHD Pontiac GTO's and, as discussed on this forum before, they don't fit on our RHD cars.

Buying Headers from the US is a bit of a non starter. The RHD steering rack puts pay to that. However if look for the same stuff in Australia and NZ you'll find what your looking for and the Oz dollar is even better value than the US.

I too am very tempted by the various bonnet options available in US and Oz but the shipping pretty much wipes out the saving on an individual purchase. If we could get together enough of us for various parts we could use a shipping container to a UK port and that may keep the cost down. I'd certainly be interested.

Good point i hadn,t took the left hand drive bit into consideration, thats why i love car forums.
The bonnets do look a bit tasty, a good visual enhancement on a cv8 i think. Idon,t usually go for thinks that serve no more purpose than looking good but i think these may be an exception. I,ll email them for a price for five and shipping, if its good i may be interested in the autumn.
