Had to make the journey to Liverpool to renew a passport on Saturday. Decided to put the office address into the factory fit satnav on my VXR8 and guess what, it offered no directions!

Ended up using the wife's Tomtom which got us there no problem. On the way back tried the car's unit again. It failed to recognise the M6 until we reached Sandbatch services! £1500 optional extra and it doesn't know of the M6 after Manchester.

Now I'm trying desperatly not to have to take time off work again to visit the stealer to get it looked at so am I right in thinking it should simply be a duff disk? Do you think they should just send another?

As I have said before for 1500 quid they are extremely poor value for money. They are not 3D and do not accept a postcode. You have to have a spare week just to read the half inch thick instruction manuel. Mine is inaccurate by approx. 100yds. Probably needs calibrating but can't be arsed.

Vauxhall seemed somewhat clueless. Asked me to drop it in so they can try a number of resets, updates etc.

Ah well we live 'n learn eh.

Mine stopped working a cople of weeks ago - spoke to the dealer (Motor Bodies, Luton) who said there was a software upgrade needed.

Just go tback form hols so am wading through 150 + emails. At least one should refer to this.

I was advised by "the salesman" that they werent particularly good and to go out and buy a tomtom instead. Could he have been speaking the truth?teacher
