Spark Plug info
Discussion
Hi All,
After nearly falling off my chair from finding out how much an interim service was, I have decided to order all the parts myself.
According to vauxhall, an interim service does not need new spark plugs (my car has only done 12K miles), however I would like to check them / confirm the gap.
Does anyone know what this should be??
Also, does the ro have a fuel filter? The guy at the dealer said no, but the amout of fuel mine guzzles, it would be nice to have one!!!
Many thanks.

Fuel filter is 130K miles change except in arduous conditions. plugs are sceduled for 50K miles. On a standard car, id leave them alone. They wont need gapping.
Hi there,
Quote for interim service for 2006 monaro VXR was £216. When i asked what it was for, only oil and filter change. Check lights, brakes, tyres and top up levels.....
Priced up the parts individually (this is with GM discount though). Also heres the part numbers if anyone needs them
plugs:- £11.25 12571164
Oil (5W/30):- £16.29 for 5 litres 93165212
Oil Filter:- £6.00 89017524
Air Filter:- £8.55 92068161
So in summary, for the interim service, it costs them £22.29 for parts, and then you are charged just over £190 for labour.
Dont even think the plugs and air filter are looked at in that price.
So im gonna order them all myself..plus im gonna change the air filter!
Thanks Monkfish for the advice on the plug and fuel filter.. Will just drop the plugs out and have a look to make sure all is well.
