Ok, so we know Jez's beast is about to hit the rollers.

But who else is planning something. Gareth yours seems to change month to month, is it off the drawing board yet?

.. and I dont mean boring old slow bolt on PD blowers. (Unless there is cams and forged stuff going on too!)

Anyone doing a blown stroker!? Roger SVXR?

Forged 454 NA? etc.. Mark at Rapid said someone was doing a 454, but I forget what he said it was going into.

I think Mark did a blown forged 454 some time back for a fellow in devon, maybe cornwall?

Mine suffered delays last week while a high torque servo motor was sourced for the throttle body. The extra air flow of the 2300 TVS was stopping the throttle blade opening past 75%. Now this has been fixed the top end dyno work can be completed.

Yeah Ive seen talk that the LS9 is too small for the tvs2300. Magnusson say they dont understand why they did it.

What boost are you aiming at Wormy? What blower drive belt do you have now? 12rib? I hope you can get it to the ground, or us slow NA blokes will blow past you on the quarter mile, just like I did to HarryOz wink

Id like to see someone else with a decent NA setup. There are a few cam guys out there now. Including Mr Fish and Mr Cresta. But they are a bit away from max effort setups. How about a nicely cammed LS3 with 450rwhp?

I have an 8 rib ATI overdrive 8" balancer and it's working fine at 15psi currently. Mark also had to lower the engine, sort out the breathers by fitting a catch tank to relieve crank case pressure. Before that it was valve float so the springs had to be replaced with stiffer ones! Lots of silly niggles but it's getting there now. I also have an engine torque damper to help with wheel hop. Should be interesting

Vacuum pumps are expensive, add complexity and not necessary in this case. Running 70lb injectors which are supplied with the blower. Magnusson say the 2300 is really for big, modified engines. It's much quieter than my old one and runs much cooler too. Apparently they are bringing out an even bigger one presumably for boat engines.

It may not be a turbo but makes max boost from 2000rpm which is what I want.

Mate, based on your current setup I dont think complexity has been one of your overriding design contraints smile

Just fitted this over the weekend. Hopefully another 5 RWHP?

Just a word to the wise. The FAST 90 intake is not a straightforward swap onto an LS2. It was made primarily for the LS1.

The fuel rails require an adaptor kit for the LS2.

The MAP sensor needs to be moved to the back and this requires the MAP plug's wiring to be extended.

The Power steering resevoir fouls one of the vacuum tubes at the front. I had to strip off the resevoir mounting bracket, drill out the spot welds holding it together and reweld it slightly forward, to clear the tailpeice. This now means that the engine cover will not fit. (Not a problem for me as I don't use it anyway, traps heat!)

ETA. And as is usual with crap yank engineering, there were no captive nuts for the throttle body bolts so that meant a bit of fiddling and cursing with 6mm nuts and washers. Also there was no way of retaining the Map sensor in its new position so had to glue it down with silicone sealant.

The good parts: Port matching was vitually spot on, intake noise is enhanced, throttle response appears crisper, although this is probably more psychological?

Did you remove the tapers in the ports mate?
Also torque should be increased, so perhaps you do have more throttle response. Now where is your otrcai?

Gareth needs to get the transmission sorted out before applying the big donk. The 4 L65E is the first weak link and i need to get a built box sorted first. Unfortunately this is the limiting factor delaying my stroker.

I'll pick up a DUS when I go to Aus this christmas.

I'm sure i read somewhere on the American forums that you can port the FAST intakes and gain even more. If that is true maybe that is an option Gareth

Spotted this the other day www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=322779
built TH 400 discounted.
Here is my latest project, absolutely nothing to do with Monaro’s www.gledhill.net/building-products/product-index/torent.htm
However this and the new bathroom that goes with it may help persuade the management of the need for more Monaro bits.

We are putting an LS2 into something else

My Maloo is, as you say, a fair way from max effort, but i dont want to ruin it! Ive got a cam that would probably make 450rwhp, but its going nowhere near my maloo.

As I said the port match from standard is very good. I don't want to do any stock removal for blending until the intake is fitted to my AFR225's. They go on when the bottom end is done, when the transmission is sorted, and I know how bad I can go with the stroker.

You can port any intake but yes, this is a fantastic one to port and match, because it splits in half.
