Am thinking of going back to a VXR8,the newish LS3, whats the best power you can get out of them without a S/C ?

Or do I go Nissan GT-R, big differance in price and only 2 seats.

Andy.

Stock with a tune up I recon 370rwhp all done nice.

With a cam you should hit 430rwhp easy, guys down under can hit 500rwhp with a chaos cam which wont pass emissions. I recon 450 should be doable with a smaller mild cam.

Why do without a supercharger? Mine's still for sale, fitted for a good price.

Oh dear smile

LS2 heads are not the same as LS3 heads mate. The intake ports are totally different so the blower intake wont fit.

Im sure your 122 will sell at the right price.

Buy the Vauxhall (HSV)! Can't really be a better time to buy one now Vauxhall have reduced the prices - cheaper than even the Monaro VXR was redued to!

Also the cost of tyres, four new Dunlop run flats will cost me £1700.00 inc VAT, and my business is tyres, and they say you can't fix a puncture, don't agree with that though.

I think for 30K you could have a new LS3 engined VXR8 with some nice bits and pieces bolted on, so half the price of the GT-R and four doors, also it sounds the mutts nuts with the switchable exhaust which won't efect the guarantee unlike the GT-R which invalidates everything if you change the exhaust (engine and drivetrain).

Graham at Picador is loading up a new one for himself with S/C so I will give that a try when it's done.

Whats the deals on Cams etc and who's best ?

No dought that at the stock price they must be the best value for money available.

Andy.

P.S. Yes I do have an order in for a GT-R but can soon get out of that, will loose £250.00 though, but will save 30K, plus would see a VXR8 a hell of a lot sooner.

never mind the talk of power, specifications, trim levels etc - ask yourself a simple question - which would you feel happier parking in a car park and walking off leaving it there for the day? All well saying thats what insurance is for but how long would you have to wait again for a replacement? Suspect the steal to order folk will be doing a brisk trade in GTRs at the moment.

I hear what you say but car parks would be a no no with the GT-R as once you park it you can't open the blasted doors as it's tooooooooooooo wide, the VXR8 is big but the GT-R is bigger.

I had a fantastic day in the VXR's at Thruxton a couple of weeks ago that I think I know what direction to go, the VXR team looked after us very, very well indeed and we are looking foward to going again next year if it happens, great value for money.

Think the difference between 60K and 30K says it all and the sound from the Wortec exhaust is just the dogs nuts.

Intresting thing which has just come to mind is that the test drive in the GT-R took in only well surfaced roads and I think the ride would soon get on your bits on the nasty pot holed roads around Surrey, they are a very harsh ride IMHO.

I will wait and have a drive in Grahams next week with a little luck.

Andy.

P.S. Hi Dougie, hope you are well and thanks again for a magic day out.

This is getting more and more tempting, my 'Ro is out of warranty in a few months and I'm starting to think about it.

Picadors are still listing the VXR8 at full price on their website. Are they actually doing these deals at £23-25k? They have a year-old VXR8 in stockwith 5k miles for the same price - how does that work?!?!?!
