Following helpful advice from 007VXR i got booked into to Motorbodies Luton to check for fault codes following the car stalling earlier in the week. Needed to get it in quick as i only have 3 weeks warranty left.

Technician initially could find no fault - did mention that if it had been remapped he might not be able to see all fault codes ??

I informed him i thought it was the throttle body sensor based on this sites wisdom/Monkfish and he went back for another look - came back 10 mins later to say yes the throttle body was definately broken - or more precisely it was now

Now had engine warning lights flashing and car was hunting like mad. They tell me that Vauxhall thankfully had one on the shelf and will be with them tomorrow for immediate replacement.

Thankfully this is all under warranty as he informed me their price for the body is £800.00 !!

Well done fella. Beggars belief the difference between some VX dealers and others! Anyway, hope it works out

Same problem that I have. Have pointed out your post to my local dealer,so hopefully Vauxhall have another one "on the shelf"!

Definetly recommend motorbodies in Luton! Goodstuff mate. Thats £800 saved towards Roadtax 2010, lol.

I think it might actually be £800 to Road Response Pack and Lowering Springs on the 12th August at the Fish

I'm sure Richard will confirm, but unless it is a major operating system change during the remap ( ie to run speed density ), all fault codes will work as normal.

Thats probably just one of their ways of hinting "its remapped, your warranty is void"

Definately sound like a cop out to start off with - originally stating that it was probably the remap that caused it to stall. I then informed them it was done by the original dealer when the car was brand new and had been ok for just under 3 years - in truth i dont know if a remap has been done, but as it had the Wortec Exhaust and Headers fitted by the dealership i'm guessing it was...
