I have owned a monaro for about 2 years now and I am quite happy with it, however there has be a lot of talk about the great deals on a VXR8. So......
should I get rid of a perfectly good Monaro and go into hock for a brand new car? and in years to come kick myself for getting rid of what may become an iconic car?

Or will I kick myself for not buying a bargin when I had the chance ?
The thing is I really like the Monaro and I really like the VXR8.
What would you do ?

and....what does the future hold for V8 cars? will they be made but only in small numbers or have we really had it this time?
Hell, I need a drink.

What are your requirements? Does the monaro meet them now?
Do you need 4 doors etc?
If not then save your cash. A car is always a waste of money!

There doing some great deals on VXR8s but they'll only get cheaper !!

No point getting in the red for a while if you're happy with your car and you don't need the 4 doors.

Personally I'd stay put and it does sound like you are quite happy with your car.

Wait a few years until the Monaro is worth a fortune and then buy a cheapy old VXR8 !!

Thanks guys..I have solved the problem..
If people give me lots of money I can have both..and the best bit is they will feel better for helping a poor soul out....

Keep the Ro cos you'll not get a good price for it atm anyway, use it and enjoy it, then when the VXR8's are cheaper than the Ro's (it WILL happen ) buy one as your daily driver and garage/weekend use the classic icon for future generations to drool over........ driving

Depends on how long you can wait, but put it this way, a friend of mine bought a brand new car the same time as I bought the Ro (second hand) for approx the same price, he recently sold up for about 5 grand less than I could get for the Ro...
I don't think they'll ever be THAT sought after, but I personally think they will hold a value above their actual worth....

I hope!

I'm biased (and had a couple of whiskys), but my 'ro is still beautiful - far better looking than the VXR8. Don't need to sell the 'ro for a VXR8, but they do have their advantages over the 'ro, especially when fitted with a decent supercharger. Looking forwards to the time when I can have one of each (supercharged)!
