You may remember last summer holiday we came over from Germany and did the tour around Scotland (up West coast, along the North Coast and back down the East - with a few other detours on the way)...

Well tomorrow the big lump begins a trip which ends on the 23rd August (26 days in total) which takes us to:-

Isle of Skye
Isle of Harris
Isle of Lewis
Isle of Benbecula
North Uist
South Uist (to where my mum's grandfather came from originally)
Isle of Eriskay
Isle of Barra

As well as the above there's plenty of daytrips planned around Glasgow for the first couple of holibag days (more a case of relaxing before we start having to worry about catching ferries and where we can next buy petrol biggrin)

We head back to Aachen on the 16th August and when possible I plan to take the 'ro down to the Alps for some nice scenic pics to add to the hundreds I'll no doubt take on the Outer Hebrides...

I'll try to fire a few shots up along the way as and when I find an "interweb" connection as it's detailed on one website of a B&B we're staying at along the way smile

Wow !! Your not afraid of buying the gazoline are you Baz ??!!

Sounds like a great trip - didn't make my little trip to Scotland this week but might go for the first week of September instead.

Take loads of pics and remember any memorable roads wink

Brilliant! Plan to do The Outer Hebrides next June - but in our Campervan! Assume you got an island hopscotch ticket. Plenty of great roads,as you alraedy know, to stretch the cars legs.

If I worried about petrol prices I wouldn't like cars with big engines or big power biggrin

Just back from my hols up in the Lakes with the 'Ro.

Some fantastic roads up there - Kirkstone Pass, Corney Hill, Whinlatter Pass, although I didn't venture on the Wrynose and Hardknott pass as was worried about scratching the beast.

After spending the week being pretty careful down all those sheep and hiker infested lanes, it bottomed out when boarding the Windermere Ferry on the last day. The ferry driver had not pulled up onto the slipway as much as he ought to have done.furious

It hasn't done too much damage, just a couple of minor scratches underneath the front valance which will need sorting out. Should I take it up with the Cumbrian Council or would that be a complete waste of time ?....hmmm...let me think....banghead
