vxr8 ls3 manual gearbox.
Discussion
Ok found this info on .au
"What I found during the day of my delivery Dec 31, upon close inspections of mine and the Booran Holden yard stock was, the 2009 MY9.5 Clubby's (which are 2009 release) with build dates of Nov 2008 onward in manual have the TR6060. Also on Clubby's and GTS's the centre console "sliding" arm rest lid has been deleted to a fixed lid, the engine dip stick has been moved slightly back toward the firewall and is more vertical, from what a mechanic said was to stop a problem of rubbing the lead causing ignition problems."
Seems to have been verified by a few other threads.
Therefore the LS3 stock here must have been built pre 11/08

they have t-56 in them.
Oooohhh what are the ratios............Granada
Enjoy.
I think somebody posted that the VXR8 T56 has vin code M10, so hopefully the TR6060 will be identified as something different. Monaros had MM6 and M12.
From what I have seen the TR6060 is evolutionary rather than revolutionary. I think it has the same ratios and externally looks the same. I think it has wider gears for greater torque capacity.

Someone in Oz posted the code was still M10
So you just have to go by the build date. Im sure the part number would be different too.
The stock T56 was used in the viper anyway, so its not as if its weak. Its run in many a 1000bhp vehicle no problem.
Weaker components are the diff and half shafts. Im sure if you beef them up enough you will eventually bust the box, but its pretty good.
It does seem to like messing the synchro's up though.

The T56 has come in many forms, with many different internals. The viper's internals are different. So you just have to go by the build date. Im sure the part number would be different too.

In at least as much as it had the carbon baulk rings first, larger mainshaft and output shaft etc.
That said, I never had any issues with my standard Camaro T56, and likewise with my uprated T56 with the Viper mainshaft and larger output shaft.
For that...I'd reccomend Sixspeedsinc in the US

Is that due to build date Kevin, or because the Clubsports all get the T56?
Perhaps its just the W427 with the tr6060?

Yeah, they are fine for off the shelf stuff, but their idea of custom gear sets isn`t mine

That's not quite true. When I was importing these I couldn't get a warranty on them if they were going to do track use at the strip. They can break when slicks are fitted or sticky tires. I had them modded to take the viper output shaft but there still wasn't a warranty. Guess it's a numbers game, some break and some don't.Gassing Station | HSV & Monaro | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
