Hey guys,

It was really REALLY wet here in oxfordshire yesterday, and i'm starting to think that maybe some water has got into the electrics. This morning ready to drive into work, unlocked the car as normal, opened the door and the alarm sounded. 'Strange' I thought. Pressed the unlock button twice maybe thinking that the maybe the imobiliser is still on. Alarm still sounds. Then after about a minute, it stops. 'Great' i think. Start the car, alarm sounds. So i turn it off, get out and lock the car back up.....alarm still goes off. Alarm stops, i unlock the car to get in, and as soon as i open the door the alarm goes off again. I'm late for work at this point so there i am, driving through Cheltenham town centre, with the hazards flashing, and my car alarm going off every minute. furious

For some reason, after about 20 mins, it stopped all together and the car was behaving. But as I pull into work, turn the car off and open the door, the fking alarm sounds again!!

Anyone have any ideas what the problem is and/if how i can fix it? Or even diassable the alarm??

Sorry to hear of your woes mate. Why don't you try disconnecting then re-connecting the battery negative (make sure your doors are unlocked at the time), to see if that can 'reset' your alarm. BTW is it the stock alarm or aftermarket? The only time that my alarm played up was when I let the battery drain over the course of a month or so. HTH

I think it may be an aftermarket one, but as I bought the car as it is, i'm not quite sure.

I'm sure i read somewhere on here that people had problems with their alarms too when the keyfob battery was running low or something?

Right, tried disconnecting the battery.....no joy, the alarm is going off every time I open the door. I've taken the fuse out, still goes off. Don't know what else to try? The car was fine yesterday, so why is it pissing me off so much today??? really don't want to take it to a garage and see if they can fix it, am quite poor this month!!

If the alarm doesn't stop when you turn the ignition on then it's likely a Third Party system. The factory one starts when you open the door and stops when you turn the ignition key.
