Dropped into Picadors today to show a mate some of the VXR8s...and low and behold Stiggy was there picking up his throbbing red beast and Andy was Wortecing his Bathurst.

As a fluke I threw my AC belt when about to leave so got it fixed there and then, timing was ace.

Anyway great cars guys hope you like the VXR8 fold........

certainly do and as much as I loved the s2k, it looked rather small and feeble next to the r8s.

Now you got that AC belt fitted you going to get the car painted? wink

Sounded great, though I Can actually honestly say I like the sound of mine stock which surprises me

"OH MY GOD", have I made a mistake ?????

Picked my Bathurst up from "Picadilli Picador" yesterday afternoon, "WOW" it's fantastic, but thank god I have the switchable exhaust, with the full headers, cats etc, on the noisy setting it's toooooooooooooooooooo noisy and on quite it's not noisy enough, any clues on whats best to do ?

Was busy down there yesterday, was nice to speak to Paul from Wortec and many thanks to the lads at Picador, tidy job.

Did not think it was going to be that noisy, almost un-usable, needs to be just like my old R8 on loud, which I think was acceptable, any help most welcome.

Un-useful reply alert....!

If you leave it on loud and give it plenty of minerals once in a while, eventually you'll become slightly deaf, thus making the car appear to sound somewhere between quiet and loud to your ears smile

In all honesty I think unless you change the exhaust you'll just have to keep it on quiet, which is think is 92 dba, where loud is 102 dba.

Andy, the headers/cats not to metion cam all add to the noise, compared to your old R8 that you were used to. I also took a while to get used to the noise of the headers but you will You want to try that noise at the back and then the charger at the front yikes

I read somewhere it was 110/112 db on loud. That's very loud !!

Headers no doubt make it more so.

If it is 110/112 then that is very loud and would probably become a tad tiresome on a long journey after the first few miles.

I don't mind a nice burble when you open it up but you have to be able to live with it on a long journey too........

With a more sophisticated controller you could probably open the exhaust flaps in fractions.

regardless of make or supplier 3500 quid for an exhaust is obscene!
