Why do you think that ?

Std lifters are fine.
Any brand of chromoly pushrods, of the correct length of course.
Standard rockers are fine if in working order.

Springs are dependant on cam used
Cam is dependant on what you want, and amount of lift etc you can get away with...on a standard engine, not a huge amount.

Speak to Ron at Vengeance Racing, he's been good when Ive needed parts quickly.

Unlucky mate, hope you can get it sorted for the next drag day. Its strange how though the supras which are ment to be around the same power or less that mine had grip issues but where still going across the line at almost 130mph

I think you will find the supras spin off the line due to hard launches and then grip with sticky tires through the gears as they dont have the shed load of torque Monaros have which upsets the party in the first three gears.... you need serious rubber out back to grip properly!

Jay with the white HKS T51r was trapped at 146mph but due to wheel spin could only manage a low 12, its all about getting a good start for a good time, BUT your trap speed is the true indicator of how fast your car is as that dont change much no matter what sort of start you get.

If that is the cause they why does harryoz with the TT V8 (800+RWHP) only get around 120mph terminal

Very strange, with that sort of power id expect a much higher trap.

Pauls car traps at over 150mph with 850fly bhp.

Thats a bloody fast trap for that power ?? His car must be prety light ?

Traction can hurt trap speeds, but a car making good power, should still be able to pull off high traps regardless.

I only got a couple of runs at the pod last weekend at Mopar, and my traps were only high 130's
That was using 255/40x17 888's, and 60fts were 2.5s ( how embarassing )

Until I looked at the slip...I couldnt believe how much the traps were hurt by this.
Compared to tyres like drag radials on runs in previous years, Ive already lost some 7mph at the 1/8th, and no doubt a similar amount over the last 1/8th too.

Although there was also a strong headwind that day too.

Same at Elvington, where traps were similar. I had always wondered why traps at Elvington were usually lower, but now it all makes sense.

Speed gained over the last 8th is a good indicator of power, as most cars will have decent traction by then if the surface is good.

ALthough none of this helps 600 with a cam lol

I guess it also depends how gearing/engine speed is matched to the turbos for the 1/4. The dyno only tells half the story and over a mile I suspect it would be a different story.

BTW.Roger, sorry to hear about your sick motor. Hope it's fixed soon.
