CV8 alloys and Drag tires.

Hope this does not offend but they are a little specific. The CV8 rims I have with Slick tires are going to be going up for sale as I want something a little wider having seen what the fast supra guys are running. Price is negotiable so drop me a PM if your interested.
BTW - they must work a little as first and only run on them with a sick engine resulted in 13sec qtr! Loads of life left in them.

Putting slicks on a monaro and taking it drag racing is a sure fire way to knacker the transmission

Damage is done to the transmission when you shock load it, ie: hold the revs around 2-3k then drop the clutch to launch hard. If you preload everything and take all the slack out then launch everything should be fine, unless of course you have way more grip then the car can cope with which is simply not possible with the tires you can fit to these cars.

I put over 440wheel HP through a stock Hayabusa box without issue since the lockup clutch preloaded everything on the startline so Im sure some american iron can handle drag racing.

Shinko soft compound drag tire, great on the strip, crap on the road! Seemed as good as anything else out there and guys on them were doing mid 7 passes @ almost 200mph with them on "road" bikes.

There not TBH. Basically they are dirty and have a couple of small sections were corrosion has got under the paint but TBH as secondhand ones Ive seem alot worse! Dont even think they have been kerbed from memory.

Cost me £150 in total plus the cost to fit and balance them. So basically that really, IL let you off the fitting and balancing.
