i hate......being mugged off

well to sum it up, im mega f****d off, some guy buy the name of 'r***i b*****y' has done me over. i belive he's on the ph forum somewhere and maybe this one.

last week i bought what i believed was a 04 k&n typhoon filter, i paid £250 for it, got it the next day no problem.
(i asked him if it was for a 04 cv8 and he told me YES)

i opened it, turns out its for a 05-06 vxr, thinking he must have made a mistake i politely txt, and emailed him, and low and behold no reply, ive even rang him but cant get through.

i really didnt want to make a post on the matter, but to put it blunty im well and truly f****d off.

so now ive got a vxr typhoon kit laying about and im £250 down.

im a totally honest bloke and it pains me that people like this exsist, id be going down to his house but he lives in london, and me edinburgh.

so looks like im going to sell it at a loss, unless he finds his spine and gets in contact with me

Speaking from a position of ignorance on this one, but are you sure that they are different, as the fittings for the original air filters for the 05 model 5.7 and the 6.0 are the same, and I thought that the 04 models were the same as the 05?

no its cool mate, its a typhoon kit, it includes new piping which is different to the ls1, like posistion of the air temp sensor etc

ehm should still fit I'd have thought with a couple of extensions to the wires for the sensor surely? Surely not that big a deal to make it fit?

ehm should still fit I'd have thought with a couple of extensions to the wires for the sensor surely? Surely not that big a deal to make it fit?

i had a look, and it seem like a pain to make it fit, and its besides the point. if you pay for something you expect just that.

ive bought the right kit for my car and fitted it last week, k&n 'claim' a 15hp increase, its opened it up, and throttle response is certainly improved, with a mean induction roar. just have to wait until pay day now for my rapid map

on the 5.7 the intake temp is in the MAF so you shouldnt have to do anything at all for that

Only on the 05 and later. In the 04 there's a separate IAT sensor that'll plug in the MAF pipe.

05 has a 5-pin MAF, whilst 04 is only 3-pin.
