I just wanted to ask you guys for alittle help, I have been talking to couple of dealers about VXR8s and one in particular told me that there was only ever a 6.2l version of the VXR8 and that the 6.0l doesn't exist, isn't that bs?

Now I am pretty sure the classifieds show that isn't the case, but I am wondering aside from the engine are there many differences between the 6.0l version and the 6.2l, I guess between this years model version and last years?

But what is up with the dealer saying what must be a load rubbish about the 6.0l?

I don't now of any differences aside from the engine.

As an aside it's not this year's model versus last year's as even the 'new' 6.2 cars were made in 2008.

I thought the LS3 (i.e 6.2L) also had transmission oil coolers; if auto.

Well I know the LS2's didn't, as Rick (Kaw) has had a cooler fitted to his by Redvictor1.

Anyone know about the LS3's?

LS3 has one, I remember Chris mentioning it. I thought late LS2 had this too, but maybe it was just an LS3 thing. There was talk of Walkinshaw doing some retrofit, like Chris's.

Yes, if you are talking about engines at all.. which you are, then avoid the LS2 and head directly to the LS3 engined cars. There is zero point buying an LS2 unless its so cheap for whatever reason (mods, SC, or just plain cheap) it would be silly not to.
LS2 heads are basically LS6 heads which are last millenium/century's technology. Come into the space age!

Thanks guys, Its been pretty difficult even just getting a test drive, the places closest to me both have sold the cars I was going to see before I got the dealers, one while I was driving to view the car...

Ringram I know what you are saying when it comes to the LS2 vs LS3(I already have 4" stroked LS3 (and a TKO600) sitting in my garage), the heads do make all the difference, but I think I definitely would be able to live with a 6l if I could get it cheaper I guess it would have been nice to have some extra bargaining chips if I could play one off the other.
