Popped out for a Frankie and Benny's yesterday with Doris and on the way out of the car park I spotted a Black VXR 600 edition. It also had a V8 number plate.

I left a note under the wiper with the forum addy on it. You never know, they might come on. Anyone on here?

Yep it's mine. Bought it new from Green's as a VXR500. About a couple of years ago I had a go in Brian's and was very impressed, so I asked Green's to do the same to mine as what he'd done to his (which I assume is now VXR800's). Brian was selling his at the time, but because I hardly ever take it out in the wet, and have done so few miles in it (and I guess you get attached to them), I decided to have the work done on mine. Fell in love with them when I saw one at the MPH05 show, but after test driving one I had reservations about the gearbox and brakes, so when the VXR500 came out with the rip shifter and AP's it was if all my boxes had been ticked!

Be carefull with it.... I have a feeling the fuel system is maxed out on full load in hot weather....

Yes, I did notice that occasionaly it 'bunny hops' in first gear - nothing to do with clutch, but feels like a fuel delivery problem, as when you back off it goes away.

Why does it need more fuel in hot weather?

Glad you came on the forum. Welcome.

Lovely looking car by the way. I wish I had held out for a black VXR. Even if they are a pain in the arse keeping clean.

As 007 has said, have a think about popping along to the next meet on 20th September. There should be about 30 Monaro's/VXR8's there.
