Thunder Road is on ladies and gents,

The event will take place at Woodbridge Airfield, IP12 3TW(nr Ipswich) on Sunday 18th Oct 09. Will be confirming price next week but verbally agreed £99 per entrant and £5 per supporter(MOD base so no spectators allowed, thats why they are your SUPPORTERS ie assistant/pit crew etc

The timings will be confirmed but I would expect it to start 0930 and finsh around 1630.

It will consist of timed 1 mile drag races, starting with normal type xmas tree lights, and starting times when you break the beams. There will be results for 1/4 mile time and 1 mile time and speed. This event is primarily for Monaros/VXR8s/utes but I will be asking a select few 'other marques' along for comparisons in the real world. If anyone knows people with suitable, similar power levels (M3/M5, Audi S4, Merc CLK 55 AMG, Mustang, TVR etc) let me know.

There will be awards/accolades for the following: (But remember it is for Fun primarily!)

- Fastest 1/4 (time)

- Fastest 1mile (time)

- Fastest Monaro(time)(standard)
- Fastest Monaro(time)(MOD NA)
- Fastest Monaro(time)(FI This will exclude the 2 big guns)
- Fastest VXR8 (time)(standard)
- Fastest VXR8 (time)(modified)

- Best Terminal Monaro (speed)
- Best Terminal VXR8 (speed)

On your first run we will pair you with another car of similar spec to add to the challenge and after that people will be free to pair/challenge/grudge as you like. You will be able to have as many/few runs as you wish on the day.

Please note there is a 103Dba limit static so shouldn't have many problems but if you can go quiet for the test/day just to be on the safe side. I ran FT test on quiet, but loud for my runs and didn't get pulled all day.

Helmets will be required on the day and suitable clothing for racing and observing (gets pretty cold).

I will confirm details as needed regarding payment/booking soon.

For those travelling a long distance Accomodation is available for both 17th and 18th Oct at the A12 Travelodge.

There is also a Little Chef at the same location so it is possible to have a spot of Brekkie and all convoy the last 15 miles to Woodbridge.

Soph and I will be in the Travelodge on the 17th......

yep am going but I have to say that if there are members external to this forum that get into any stages at the expense of a forum member I will be asking for a refund smile

In other words if its a mazda, a tvr or whatever and they get through at the expense of a slower forum member then thats a no no. Open class for non forum members yes?

eta I think keep all prizes, comps whatever for forum members but do have open class prizes that are for non-marque cars

I don't think it's an eliminator as such Stig, It's advertised as each in his own class for the silverware. That's how I see it anyway; just runs all day with trophies for each class. I assume the Corvette (or any other non HSV) would be in the open class. He ain't bothered about trophies anyway, he's got plenty of those, he just wants to see what the old girl can do.

The more the merrier I say just i wasnt sure if there was eliminators etc that was all.

Wonder if the guy with the Golf could make it though he broke his at the pod the other week. That was one of the few cars that could match the viper last time!! His golf looked stock, had 185k on the clock but was a monster!
