Could someone let me know the standard VXR8 HP and what would it increase to if you fitted A) A performance pack or B) A cam pack with , regard to the cam I will be on the roads a lot more than on a track . Also is that as far as you can go normally aspirated . I spoke to you recently and exhausts were on order are they in now

The official PS - DIN figures are not that meaningfull. You need before and after the mods are done on a rolling road, sticking to a rear wheel or estimated crank figure with constant fiddle factor, with as many other variables as constant as possible.
LS2s in the Monaro were 400 odd and 530 NM. In the VXR8 they gained 20NM and 14 BHP. Now with 200 odd extra CC torque is still 550NM but 430BHP.
Perhaps a little suspicious that an extra 20NM was found with the same CC but when the CCs were upped it stayed the same?? Marketing specman ship that the new model must always have bigger numbers than the old one, what ever the reality. Against the opposition, all be it a lot more expensive, the VXR8 seams to fair badly for a 400BHP car. Don't get me wrong it remains a bargain at this time but perhaps doesn't quite live up to some claims, and hence you want to modify it!

Well it is almost a 4000lb car. 200Kg more than a monaro etc. Of course it will struggle against its foe of 2 door sports cars etc.
These engines are almost criminally detuned stock. There is shed loads of room for improvement. For example a stock LS1 is around 280rwhp, that can be made to hit 400rwhp with a mid sized cam & supporting mods upgrade that almost a 50% upgrade in power by just getting it to fill its boots better.
