Good stuff !! I bought one for mine a few days ago so just need to get my arse around to the DVLA office to get it swapped over.
Is thats all thats involved then? Wait for the certificate, then go to your local DVLA office, then get the plates made up? Thats the way i understood it. What happens to the log book - or do you take that to the DVLA place as well. All will be revealed i guess.
Think you can send all the info off (like log book, tax disc and wait for it to come back) or you can take it to certain designated offices to get a new tax disc issued on the spot with your new reg on it and they send the V5 off. When you get it back you can then get some plates made up. Then tell your insurance company and they'll send out a new insurance certificate.
I think.

Thinking about it, when I bought my reg number I opted to have the company that I was buying it from (newreg) get the plates made. SO maybe you can just get the plates made with the reg certificate document ?
Oh I don't know................

Then went to DVLA office with all my stuff, they printed new MOT and Tax Disc. Called the insurance company and told them recieved new cert. V5 followed in the post. Lady at DLVA said they've had folk changing plates in teh car park before.
If you can, leave the car at home (off road).
Take tax disc,
v5,
certificate of entitlement,
insurance certificate,
shove it across counter at dvla office.
Receive new tax disc with new reg on it.
Go home.
Swap plates over.
diplay new tax disc.
Inform insurers of change of details.
Drive car.
