Getting my VXR8 next week and want a decent sound, I want a switchable system, any opinions as to which is best?

cheapest - local stainless exhaust centre for a custom setup. After that its then a case of how much noise and type of sound you want from it. Don't believe either company claims better performance from their exhaust than the other.

Be careful about any custom exhaust that you have made.

These bad boys can drone quite badly so try before you buy.

I Wouldnt bother with switchable, if you want a system that is drone free, sounds fantastic and not chavvy, and adds max performance then go for DiFillipo, it is the best!!!

i have a custom on my r8 ,100 d at 3000 rpm;;you do get a bit of drone at 50/60 nice and quiet at 80/90.the fit isn't as good as the big boys but still good for much less money and life time guarantee

I need the system to be warranty friendly, and not loud all of the time.
I thought difillipo only do full systems. Can't afford that at present or the required re map.

Wortec can be had without the electronic switching setup t osave cash and you can change the loudness manually with a spanner. The electronic switching can then be fit at a later date when funds allow.
I think the Walkinshaw bimodal can only be switched electronically so no manual option.

...no .. its not good ..you want the noise out side not inside ..think doing 100 miles on the m/way .. with your head in a washing machine ...not good .... you want the v8 sound out side ...and enjoy the faces of other people and tunnel runs with the windows down hehewill do your nut in if you have that sound inside the car all the time yes send you nuts

Is changing the wortec over manually a big job, can you get at things without jacking the car up.
Is the loud setting ok for everyday use and long trips?
