Having run a PD blower at the higher rev range I`d say that you need to look closely at the heads and cam to get the best out of the blower.
Charge temps will be a big problem, (Is this going in a drift car?) so you`ll need to use a valley type water to air intercooler. The downside is they arn`t that good so you`ll always be pulling timing at low speed.

IMO I`d be looking at a centrifugal blower, you still get enough torque to break out (after all it is a V8) but you have way way more top end power AND you can control intake temps with a charge cooler type intercooler much better.

Its also about half the cost and will be far easier to customise to your block.

As i stated on the other thread.

A turbo setup would work out cheaper than a blower.

No matter what blower you use, pulleys and brackets will need to be fabricated, and aligned with absolute accuracy. Such work is very time consuming on a one off basis = expensive.

I'd trawl the net for anyone offering a complete bolt on kit for your engine.

Bit a single turbo with proper intercooler, would be the cheapest IMO. You just need someone to carry out the work.

I can do a twin turbo setup really easily and i have a chap that'll do me inlet and exhaust manifolds plus all the exhaust link pipes for a flat £2k. Throw a pair of turbo's ontop + a bit of IC piping and yeah job done. My main issue with turbo's is the heat.

The car is being build to do mainly UK drift demo's for Santapod in 2010 (well guessed) and the majority of that is slow 2nd gear padock drifting. Over the last 5 years i have used everything from 200sx's through to 600/700hp R32's and heat has always been a massive issue. Underbonnet temps along with oil. The issue is magnified on hot summers days or if we go across to do stuff in southern europe.

Stock engine is a VH41de 4.1ltr V8. 300hp/300ftlb's. I want a solid and reliable 500hp which shouldn't be that difficult with a blower or turbo's. It's just the heat management that made me think that SC is going to be the right way to go.

Air gets hot when compressed. That will be as much a problem with a PD style blower...if not an even bigger problem.

The engine compartment heat by comparison, isnt a big deal IMO.

If all you want is a reliable 500bhp, with no heat. Give Richard a shout ( ringram ) and he'll talk to you lol

Whilst an engine swap may not be the route you wanted. Throw in an LS2 with some mild upgrades, and 500bhp n/a will be a piece of piss, and be totally reliable. Along with a huge power band.

It would probably be a better long term prospect, and certainly cheaper for parts when it comes to tuning.

Source a good 6.0 LS2, throw a pair of heads and cam onto it, manifolds etc and you'll have the power you need.

I`d say go NA too. Though not with a 41 though, far too revvy for low down torque and compression ratios a bit too high for a good FI setup too I think?

I`d also look at dry sump with a fuk off big oil cooler too

Deffo don`t use a PD blower, you`ll have nothing but trouble.

I have a TT setup now (Having junked the PD blower for heat issuse) and its undercar to reduce heat issues, something that won`t work for you at low speed.

NA is deffo your weapon of choice, there are a few wise owls I`d ping a mail to.

Ringram
Tinker 27 and
Brummie.

They seem to be the pioneers of high horsepower NA setups.

ps

If the demos arn`t too long, you considered NOS

Keep us informed of your build though mate

Thanks everybody for your advice! It's proving to be mighty helpful.
Unfortunately the engine is already purchased and is mounted in the car, a gearbox adapter plate has been made, box purchased etc. So im a fair way along. In hindsight an LS2/LS3 engine would probably have been a much wiser option for a drop in package. But at the moment the VH engine is in the car (it’s a great engine too) and im going to use it.

Money isn’t limitless on this project, so I need to find a cost effective reliable solution 

NOS on a WOT switch would be hilarious! But considering the amount of track hours this car is going to be put though, I don’t think it’s practical.

I’ll defiantly keep you all updated on the progress but our efforts in helping me brain storm this are very much appreciated! Thank You!
