Just look up some of the Yank part suppliers. The one you want is a 28 spline for a Pontiac GTO.

Part No. 912A642

Do these have different ratios to the standard ones?

Its only the LSD centre diff section you buy. You then fit your old crownwheel to it.

Ah right thanks for that. They seem to get good reviews though!

A massive improvement over the stock item, and not expensive either.

Get from the states e.g summitracing.com. Group buy might be a good idea.

Anyone good garage can fit a diff. Make sure they get the lash right though. Roger will do a diff swap for around £300 ish IIRC. (New bolts, oil and bearings extra if required)He did Globals and mine and both have been caned up the track with no adverse effects.

Benefits: No more banging and clunking, no special oil or friction modifier needed, smooth power delivery, torque sensing properties, will take 500rwhp.

Bad bit: Drive splines slightly overcut making the axle fit sloppier.

I would not go back to a stocker unless in emergency.

Drag Bags or one oversize drive shaft. When I get a minute, I am going to try one of the weights from an Astra Driveshaft on one side hopefully this will simulate an oversize driveshaft.

I have never had an issue with tramp on the road, however at the track Harrop diff cover did not help.

Symptomatic of the Holden IRS, I'm afraid.

I bought a Harrop diff cover (only coz it looks the biz). You can buy a nolathane bush to replace the rubber stock one at the back of the diff. That'll save loads of cash and stiffen it up.

I also had replaced, all the bushes in the rear with urethane items.

I also fitted some aftermarket adjustable shocks and have just got a HD 3/4" sway bar ready to go one. The stock one at 16mm is puny. Will aslo be fitting oversize drive shaft on the driver side as this has been shown to work by Cadillac engineers developing the CTSV.

TBH you'll never get it all out unless you do something about prop, gearbox and engine mounts. The flexibility caused by these winding up and letting go, don't help things at the back.

Unlike Global, I don't believe in drag bags. Unfortunately, when the bag stops the spring working, the spring rate increases, or worse, goes to infinity, the tyre just shears. So although the bag might help to stop the oscillation (tramp) it also reduces traction IMHO.

I've got to say since fitting the Tru trac and all the other things, tramp on mine has been reduced big time, although I can still get it in extreme situations.

Drew, if you want some shocks that help, I can get you some, same as mine. I'm having some more stuff sent over from the states. Pm me if you want a price.

I dont know about the colours, I think it's more aesthetics, but I suppose it could be?

The bushes came from Monkfish so I suppose they are the peddars brand, but there are other makes available in Oz. You can order just a rear bush kit make sure you include the one for the diff cover if not getting a Harrop. Have a look on the peddars site.

I've PM's you
