A collegue of mine is wanting to replace his SRT10 with a new Maloo. Is anyone importing these at the moment?

I'd get him to call Roger at Monkfish for a chat about the pro's and con's. Walkinshaws bring them in.

Cheers Gareth,

I've told him to talk to Roger re: VE Maloo but needs to buy new for tax reasons wink. Didn't know TW was bringing them in - thanks for the steer.

You fixed your transmission for the SRR?

Its running OK now I've got the right oil in it!!!.

New box on it's way from Oz ready to be stripped and rebuilt for 500 ft lbs.

Tell your mate the problem with utes is that it's classed as a commercial vehicle and attracts 22% import duty on top of the VAT, IIRC.

I only meant him to have a chat with Roger about what his experience was and the prices etc.

there is a "loophole" along those lines but iirc you actually have to live in Oz for a year as well or something like that.

It's not a loophole as that implies something a bit dodgy. If you've lived outside the UK for a year (I think) and are a returning Citizen. You have to be able to prove it by supplying the usual bits of paper etc, you can bring it in as a personal import tax free.
