The speedometer on my VXR8 over reads (about 4 mph at 70mph for example). My last three cars were bang on the GPS reading so having got used to accuracy, this small difference is now starting to annoy me.

Does anyone know of an easy way to recalibrate?

IIRC there is a speedo applet in Efilive, in which you can make fine adjustments to the speedo.

So you would download the tune, make the adjustment and flash it back in. You need to get a willing party who owns a V2, pay for a license, and do the above. Alternatively you need a vist to your local friendly VX dealer to sort it with a Tech 2 under warranty.

IIRC don't manufacturers deliberately set speedo's to read under by a small percentage just in case?

I know my VW does.

You haven't fitted tyres with a different rolling radius have you?

Tyres are standard, I am guessing this is well within parameters as far as VX are concerned (probably true). I think often cars are on the cautious side, but for some reason it now annoying me. I dont really view this as fault as it is close - ish, just wanted to make it closer still.

I think Wortec and Monkfish can do it.

Pretty sure when I had my diffs changed it was done as part of the job.
