I keep reading about this in various posts, eg...
Blah, blah, under WOT, blah blah...
or..
Blah, blah only go WOT, blah blah...
I've got a reasonably GSOH when it comes to acronymns but I WLTM someone who knows what WOT means. I totally can't figure it out... West Of Teasco's? Without Tyres? FFS! It's a TFD!

I put more more acronyms in for you.

Usually stated to mean power enrichment mode in open loop as opposed to closed loop controlled stoimetric 14.7:1 AFR fueling.
Generally around 11.8:1 OEM NA and a similar amount for FI. But not the ideal by any means.

you should see the fueling on the ls3, they actually command a decent afr rather than 9.2Generally around 11.8:1 OEM NA and a similar amount for FI. But not the ideal by any means.

Actually commanded was/is never bad, its the actual thats the problem. LTFT's anyone ?
suppose, the stock was just 5% out on average so room for improvement, maybe a freer flowing exhaust will lean it out a bitIs when the engine reaches full load and manifold vacuum has fallen to near zero.
For a given RPM is where the engine airflow is maximum. This does not need full throttle as the butterfly valve usually employed has a very non linear response. Even with the later Monaro's electronic throttle, once the full load point is reached there is significant further travel which adds nothing extra (though used with automatics to trigger various stages of kick down).
As revs rise the full load point will need a wider throttle opening as the maximum potential airflow also rises. Unless the throttle is significantly under size then there will always be some dead travel at the end which does nothing. The throttle is a power or airflow demand not a torque or thrust demand.
