Cruise Control.... still.... tearing my hair out.
Discussion
This is really starting to bug me now, and I don't know what to do. A few months ago my car developed a cruise control problem in that pressing the button on the stick would activate it ok, but twisting to set the speed would fail the engage the system. Sometimes the display would flick to say it had disengaged, as if the CC had engaged for a fraction of a second, and then been kicked straight out again.
Apart from my nearest dealer messing me about with bookings and such, last time it was in they claimed to have fixed it by replacing wheel speed sensors, only for me to pick it up and discover that nothing had actually changed... it still didn't work. It's been in over the last couple of days and they now tell me it's somthing to do with the "supercharger software". I think that just about sums up their knowledge on the subject. When I pick the car up tomorrow I will no doubt get a slightly more comprehensive brief, but essentially I assume they're going to say it's an ECU problem related to the map.
As this is a VXR500, and the car has had it's supercharger from new, I fail to see how the ECU has suddenly decided to disable the CC after 25,000 miles of everything being ok.
So I don't know what to do now. I'd take it back to Greens, but I can't for obvious reasons. Vauxhall Warrington don't want to know... Should have bought a stock VXR and modded it myself for all the good the warranty on the VXR500 is worth.
Sorry for the rant.

If the CC was ok before and is now playing up like you describe (and no ECU changes made - as Wormus suggests) then I would be suspecting one of the switches on the brake or clutch pedals - disconnects CC when brake or clutch pressed.
Well it's been in twice with Vauxhall now, and you'd think they'd be able to read errors like that from the diagnostic. Monkfish also had a look not so long ago and it didn't produce any obvious errors. I'm interested to hear that someone else has a similar problem with a supercharger though. I dismissed it at first because I can't see a reason for it to suddenly be a problem now, but maybe there's something in it.
I'm often on the motorway, and I really miss the CC. Will have to wait to see if they have any specific details tomorrow morning. Thanks for the replies peeps.

Nearly forgot... Wormus, which supercharger are you running, and is it a Wortec map?
I have a TVS 2300 but it stopped working when the 122 was fitted. It was remapped by Mark but I couldn't be arsed to ask him to fix it afterwards. On the VZ models I believe there is a seperate module for cruise control while on earlier V2 models it was all in one. Of course I apologise if I have this wrong.
I might be better off visiting an auto electrician than a Vauxhall dealer tbh.
depends how the cruise control works but some use a variety of sensor inputs - one of which can be manifold vacum pressure. can't remember why it uses this but if it is then the supercharger might be throwing it out on it's calibrated settings so it defaults to off.
I've fitted an aftermarket CC to a car and that needed a T into one of the vacum hoses on the engine.
