Well don't worry with the new "workplace parking tax", your wallet will be emptying faster than Gordon Brown can say "I want your money."

We are going to be the first to get it here in nottingham, luckily my business is situated just outside the city boundry. I think we will get road pricing as well just as you enter nottingham there is a specs camera counting cars dead on the city line, been there a few years now just to get us used to seeing it. furious

The day that this government finally f***ks off can't come soon enough!! I know....whoever gets in next will probably turn out to be just as bad, but i've had enough of Labour now.
Even if we went back to travelling by horse and cart they'd tax us for it in some way. Tossers.

All businesses need to do is relocate. It baffles me why many businesses operate within city centres now anyway. The costs for both the business and their staff must be astronomical. Turn city centres who operate such taxations into ghost towns.

Oh...and bring Guy Fawkes back to burn those stupid fkers in government to teh ground.

Incredible. A lot of us owners already pay over a pound a day whether we drive it or not due to stupidly high road tax prices. Unbelievable.

Sorry but quite frankly if you think this is something which is going to come and go depending which political colour you follow your just as daft as they think you are, they are ALL thieving scumbags, and we are all muppets for accepting these clowns in this so called democracy as our representatives.

Democracy is nothing more than a dictatorship in fancy dress, an easier pill to swallow for the mass's, all in my humble opinion of course.

Look at it this way
Assume you are on the top rate of tax i.e. 40%
So for every £100 you earn the disloyal traitorous government thieves £40 pounds off you, leaving £60
Assuming petrol is a pound a litre ( I know it isn't but it makes for easier maths) and you want to buy 60 litres i.e. £60 and bearing in mind fuel duty and VAT at 70% makes up £48 of that £60 means that to buy something costing £12 you have to earn £100.
So you can drive to work to pay parking tax and income tax to keep the politicians firmly with their snouts in the trough!
Guy Fawkes had the right idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Napalm is too good for them!
Fook em Barstewards!!!!

I would say it's about fking time you people here in the UK start shouting smile

Forgive me for being honest but I have been here for more than 6 years and people here never seem to stand up to these fcensoreders and really let them know what you think,- let alone do something about it. Unfortunately I can't vote because I'm not allowed dual citizenship but damn....Taxing people for actually parking on private ground. That would really would be a joke anywhere else in the world.

can't you just create a nice garden but allow employees to park on the lawn?

Is this a new form of Window tax? Ah, yeah, beginning to hate this place now, but australia has probably one of the worst prime ministers it has ever had in at the moment, so won't be going back until he is out. Lets hope people wake up and get this tt out of office.

Judging from the comments so far, I suspect some of you are unkeen on this brilliant new initiative from our glorious leaders, in which case, why not sign the British Chamber Of Commerce's petition against it?
Like all petitions I suspect it will do no good, but it's better than doing nothing and coming from the BCC, its vaugely possible one of our glorious leaders minions might look at it for five minutes before getting back to the serious business of filling in an expenses form.

My journey to work mostly involves country roads through villages and such like. During school holidays I can get to work in 15 mins flat, with very little in the way of traffic.

At all other times of year, the roads are gridlocked with people carriers, small hatchbacks and SUVs stuffed full of school kids.

How will a tax on parking at work alleviate congenstion here, I wonder?
