However when I came back from Denmark I chickened out before the car,- when it passed the 150 mph and I started thinking about tyrefailure,

I beleive its a common fault with Ro dashes lol did it but no done it since but looks good

Having just moved from a Monaro vxr to an LS3 VXR 8.
The VXR8 is easily faster, apart from top speed because its limited.
A Bathurst S would also be faster than the VXR 500.
