They will be ones that are already sold I expect. Heard of a few people waiting to get theirs done.

Well so far I'm quite impressed. My background is BMW 540 with the ZF 5 speed box, plus my weekend toy which runs a 700r4 which I built (several times) myself.

In normal slush mode, it is just that - pootles around sliding between gears without any fuss.
In sport mode it's really good; The changes aren't particulary fast (due to torque management) but I do like how it figures out how you are driving - if you have just been accelerating hard and then brake for the next corner, it will blip the throttle and change down into the correct gear and be ready to boot it again. It does this (as I understand it) by reading an accelerometer and judging how hard you are driving and braking.
Also if you lift of in the current gear as you approach a corner it will hold the current gear, rather than changing up like all my other auto's - which is really anoying. If you just drive normally in sport mode, it doesn't change down as agressivley or hold the gears.
If you select gears manually, it will also match the revs of the engine as it engages the lower gear.

So overall I'm impressed with it - you do need to give it some welly for the clever stuff to kick in. On my dealer test drive I didn't realy notice it.

(all based on about 50 miles of driving so far...)

Thanks. Not been tempted by the Walkinshaw or Wortec Auto box upgrades? Anyone got any experience with them?

FFS!!! This is bullst.! £25995 is $48700. They sell (the R8 that is, not with the GTS extras that you get) for $67990 (£36300) PLUS on road costs (stamp duty and registration, would add another $5,000) here mad

They were £35k new. Vauxhall offloaded the remaining cars by pre-registering them. Some of the dealers are probably left with cars that were never discounted in such as way, plus some dealers are now cranking the prices back up again "because they can" (certainly the one where those Bathhursts were heading to, because I queried why they had whacked £2k on them)

If you put yourself in there shoes would you not do the same, the market swings up and down, yes I will agree with everyone about prices but it seems like Vaxhaul have been taking the lions share and not the dealers IMO.

IMO dont buy an LS2 unless you want 1990's technology. The LS3 is much superior and there is currently no premium. A guy on vxronline is selling his for £23k ONO with just a few thousand miles on it.

I recon the price differential is worth £4k because of the engine. If you can get a really cheap LS2 you can mod it nicely. I saw one for £17k the other day on PH.
