I'm back and tempted by what appear to be fantastic deals on VXR8's. 59 plate auto for £24,000 from Now Vauxhall. Is this for real??

yes, I had one of the last manuals.
Buy one because I don't think there will be anymore now that Magna own Vauxhall.
I moved to one from a Monaro, the VXR8 is a brilliant car.
Make sure if you buy one that it has the latest 6.2 LS3 engine.

Now Vauxhall wanted £29K when I spoke to them. There were better deals elsewhere. I'd have though the stock was all but gone, so don't hang about.

Just beware, there are a number of independents holding back new cars until the Vauxhall Dealership driven frenzy is over, so they can make a more substantial margin, nearer the original RRP.

Having said that, I just paid 29k for a manual Bathurst, but thats because I'm impatient!

In other words they were unable to sell at those higher prices whilst the cheap cars were on offer. I'd hardly describe that as holding them back. And it's not just independents. Some Vauxhall VXR8 dealers did not offer the deals as they had no cheap cars to sell. Now Vauxhall Heathrow were in exactly that position when I called them at the end of July.

You're absolutely correct - I was referring more to the incorrect assumption that there will not be any more new ones for sale going forward. I applaud the retailers "not currently having them on sale" as it's better for our residuals than if this very low margin "VXR8 Sale" continued, as it devalues the VXR8 brand.

Yes I changed my beloved Monaro for a manual LS3 engined VXR8 - now rebadged - price quoted is in the ballpark

VXR8 from Now Vauxhall listed as top bargain car in this weeks Autocar magazine, so if you want one you may have to be quick.

Drive Bristol had a black manual for £25K yesterday in their showroom. Registered but had not gone anywhere, plates (I think 09) were in the foot well. Said they had a red demo too, also manual though I didn't see it.

Salesman also said the VXR8 has been discontinued, and the Bathhursts were the finally.

Vauxhall V8s 2004 - 2009 RIP.

I enquired about that car on the 9th and was told it was sold.
