I've been reading some horror stories about red VXR8s being prone to stonechips.. You can get the vulnerable bits protected for £500.

Anybody done this?

Yes i've got Ventureshield on the front of my Monaro.
Wasn't cheap as they had to custom cut the whole front bumper for the VXR. The bonnet and wings they got a pattern from Oz for.

Works really well, haven't had a chip or mark since. (happy days on a black car smile )
You can see it if your right up close but hardly noticeable after a few layers of wax.
Make sure you get rid of any chips before it's applied as they will look twice as bad.

Only bad things to say is that you have to wash bugs off fairly soon otherwise they can mark the surface, and you have to be careful with abrasive cleaners as you can get hazing which won't polish out.

How would a wrap (i.e. matt black) work for stone chip protection? or would you need to shield that as well?
