My VXR8 will be due in a month or so for its first (10,000) mile service; where should I take it:
a) Motorbodies Luton, who supplied it and have good feedback as far as I can tell, on here.
b) Local independent garage that I've been using for about 10 years.
c) Monkfish, who get good feedback on this forum - but there is nothing special needing doing.

Untill the car is out of warranty I`d take it to a Vauxhall dealer to keep a customer relationship going.
Out of warranty take it where you like, as long as you are happy with the level of service they give.

I couldn't recommend Monkfish enough, they're always pleased to help, good value and you know that THEY know what to look for. As for the 'friendly local' garage, well I'm not the person to ask!

Monkfish definitely. They did little bits and pieces like tying back certain pipes because they know from experience that if left as it would eventually melt. There's also a plastic flap in between the exhausts that's opened during transport. Vauxhall are supposed to be put back into place on delivery as water gets into your rear fog light and corrodes it. Those light are £300. Monkfish sorted that for nothing.

They really are the only people we'd trust with out car.

Monkfish are very good, BUT, if its in warranty, take it to a Vauxhall dealer who is approved to service them.
When I had my Manaro and had a number of warranty claims the first thing they asked me was was is serviced by Vauxhall?
Because it was, I had no problems in getting things fixed such as new discs and pads all round.
I know that they are not supposed to do this but IMO taking it to Vauxhall will make things a lot easier if and when you have to make a warranty claim.
It does not actually cost much more either.
My VXR8 will be serviced by Vauxhall whilst its in warranty.

Monkfish or RapidGB if you want an independent or Motorbodies for a dealer. Motorbodies have excellent customer service and know their stuff; the only reason I no longer use them is my car is highly modified and out of warranty.

Under new European Regulations (Block Exemption scheme),you do not have to go to a manufacturers dealer for servicing whilst in warranty, in the same vein, you can't have it done by a "hole in the wall gang" either.

Thank you for the advice everyone.

The car is within warranty, so I'll take it to Motorbodies; that's who supplied it (ex-demo) and its not too far from home.

I would have replied in my lunch break - but this site is now 'banned' from the client's office :-(
